Check this place out! I can't say enough how great this place was! From the front store to the indoor/outdoor dining. Open kitchen concept and tables that felt like home couches! The food, ambiance and service was fantastic! I really enjoyed the sourdough, chicken liver cornbread, chicken picatta, scallops and strawberry rhubarb cake. Easy street or garage parking, use inkind for $50 off 150. They also offer 3 course meal for Sunday supper.
Oh my heavens. What a beautiful restaurant. The cheese tray was practical, delicately balanced with a nice variety. Healthy cuts. The accouterments are plain, but the cheese is your focus and it nails that perfectly. The Brie Fermier was delightfully silky and tastes like truffles! Pardon my swearing, but holy f%$* the peaches and creme toast was divine. I loved the flavor, Michelin flavor for a steal. The service was appropriately involved and took extra steps to assure we were welcomed and a part of their dream. Vanessa has excellent vision and her husband have an amazing thing going.
Agnes has been on our list for a while and we're so glad we got to finally try it! This restaurant is ALSO a cheesery and features a menu that's meant to be shared with the table. Do yourself a favor though and order multiple Cornbread Eclairs (chicken liver mousse, chives, & luxardo cherry) because they're dangerously good and you probably won't want to share it lol We also ordered the Tinned Fish of the Day (crackers, seasonal pickles, & country mustard) which was Mackerel Fillets in EVOO. It paired so well with the kimchi and mustard! We did come in 15 min before dinner service and were told we couldn't be sat outside until it started. Not sure if this was normal but we ended up waiting quite a bit before having to remind to hostess we were still waiting for a table.
We wandered in here for some wine and a snack after dinner nearby. The cheese board was delish and was perfect for the wines we ordered. The prices are good, and the service was quick, friendly, and attentive. The comfortable and cozy ambiance is perfect for a date....They also have a store in the front where you can purchase items to go. Overall we had a great experience, but we stopped by just for drinks so we didn't stay too long. I would definitely love to come back for dinner next time and try their other menu items.
Our server was such a sweetheart! She was super patient with our large party. I loved the outdoor seating. Cuban melt was yummy and I loved the plantain chips Tried some of the hot dish which was soooo good. Crispy tater tots was also solid but how can you mess up tots? Had the goldfinch which was perfectly refreshing. Tried the apple of my chai; so delightful but more of a fall drink in my opinion Parking is typical Pasadena parking, find the those park and walk lots or street parking.
Had a wonderful dinner here for my best friend's birthday about a month ago! I think it's so sweet that they give birthday cards; it was super memorable and a nice surprise for my friend. We were too full for dessert so not sure if they do anything else special like candles. My favorite dish there was the radiators in red sauce pasta mm but I also loved the half & half board. The pâté!! The ambiance in the restaurant is the best thing about it. We sat at a round table of four but I'd love to come back and sit at the booths with the comfy couches. The decor and everything is very aesthetic. Personally, I think the ambiance outshines the food a bit, but I need to try some other dishes. Thanks for having us!
My friend and I were walking down the street with our eye on the prize -- bbq at Craft by Smoke and Fire. Unfortunately we didn't anticipate their Mother's Day brunch and were quickly intimidated by the trays of brunch items laid out on a table in front. We pivoted to Agnes and were amazed we had never seen or been before. There's a cute cheese store in front with books and cheese related items. As someone who doesn't eat dairy I was slightly concerned the proximity to all the cheese would cause immediate bloating but luckily we were seated very quickly in the back patio away from the cheeses. We ordered the cornbread eclair to share. It was... interesting. I wasn't a fan of the berry on top but otherwise it was tasty. Different from what I expected but not in a bad way. We also shared the tots and BLT. So much avocado in the BLT which I'm not complaining about. Just sayin.. I had huge chunks of avocado falling out of my sandwich. Overall cute vibe, good service. Loved the decor and aesthetic. I'd like to revisit for dinner to try some of their other dishes next time.
My boyfriend and I came here on a whim during our spontaneous old town Pasadena date. Rain was just pouring down here in socal today in mid April, and I was getting slightly lightheaded, so we had to go find a place to sit down and eat quickly. Food: wow we started off with the toffee pancake, and it was so deliciously sweet with a little bit of tangy twist. And the bacon egg benedict blew me out of my seat, the egg was perfectly poached without the yolk being too runny, sauce was so very creamy and savory, bacon was super tender and sweet and salty, and the biscuit on the bottom soaked up all the flavors very nicely! We were thinking of light snack/food, but this ended up being pretty hefty heavy meal haha Price: oof a bit pricey, but well worth the dollars given that the food taste and quality are top notch. It came out to $60 for 2 dishes including tax and tip Ambiance: very hipster modern vibes, spacious with lots of seating inside, great for brunch when you're feeling basic teehee Service: great, everyone was friendly and attentive, they got us what we needed in a prompt manner, no issues here Parking: we parked in the public parking lot within old town Pasadena, it was only $1 for the first 2 hours, and lots of available spots on a rainy Sunday afternoon
